'90s Croatia
>HOS is formed
>basically proto-Azov
>commits massacres and war crimes against Serbs; possibly even gypsies (and others)
>wins after a 4 year conflict (1991-95)
>despite having a liberal government, the HOS became forged within the national guard of Croatia (much like Azov) and their leaders congratulated them (much like that kike Zelensky)
Ukraine (2013 - present)
>riots start after a small group of protesters were violently dispersed by Berkut police in Kyiv (the whole chain of events that lead to today resemble the Arab Spring and Syria by quite a bit)
>(((Yanukovych))) flees the country after rioters invade his mansion in Mariupol
>a new government is established and nationalists resort to extraparliamentary street-based activism, almost like Italy's CasaPound
>the War in Donbas starts and the Azov/Aidar Battalions are formed
>a brief battle for Crimea occurs and Crimea is officially annexed into Russia after guerillas fighting for Russia keep them out (for the time being)(although Crimean Tatars, who are oppressed by Russia, have their own battalion)
>for the next 8 or 9 years this war on the Eastern front with proxy groups continues until Russia invades in Feb. 2022
>Ukraine gets support from the West and all over ; Russia gets support from China and other members in the OPEC+ alliance after the US and everywhere else shuts them off
They even look pretty similar:
