1st premolar extraction

So around 8 months ago my dumbass finally got approved for braces. Before starting treatment, my orthodontist extracted my first premolar because it was blocking my canine from coming down properly. The weird part is he only removed the one on the left side since that was where the issue was.

Now I’ve been wondering if having only one premolar extracted can cause noticeable asymmetry or bite issues long term. I can already feel my bite shifting a bit, but I’m still in treatment so I can’t really judge the final result yet.

Has anyone else had just ONE premolar extracted during braces treatment? If so, how did it turn out for you? Any asymmetry, bite problems, or did everything balance out by the end? Which I figure would be unlikely.

Let me correct myself I had protruding canines only on the left side and this absolute retard only removed the premolar on the side of the problem

No a tooth removed by itself will likely not causing any major asymmetry. What could cause the asymmetry is you stressing about it and moving your mandible to try and compensate for a likely imaginary shift you believe is taking place. Best thing you can do is not stress about it.

I'm not sure what you mean by reversal treatment. But to be honest I think the biggest mistakes are those that come from trying to repair smaller ones. I think the biggest damage you will do to yourself is by stressing over this. You can tell your ortho about your concerns but do not start believing that what happened is the end of the world.
