Actually, thinking twice, I don't fully agree. Women compare men to other men and not to themselves. Which is why a lot of short women exclude men under 6 foot from their dating pool, even though they would still feel "safe and protected" by a man of average stature. Slowly but surely, it's gonna become over for manlets.

Ideally you want the thickest shoes possible in order to not overdo it with the insoles. Timberlands, work boots, and dress shoes work the best. Sneakers, I don't think they can fit an insole, so no.

There were a few guys I would heightmog by a few inches and work but then all of a sudden they were as tall as me (6'2"). Only lifts can explain that shit.
