slightly yes. i instantly noticed this. its because he designed the implants symmetrical instead of to my face shape, and my underlying bone structure stuck out more on that side. im hoping with palate expansion i can expand the left side a little more than the right, which should even them outDoes the right side of the malar implant stick out way more then the left side?
Did a co2 laser, starting accutane in a couple days. if that doesnt work ill do a faceliftyou need to get some type of skin surgery to reverse aging your skin looks old and hard
Won’t u have to remove the implants if u do expansion like marpe or fmeslightly yes. i instantly noticed this. its because he designed the implants symmetrical instead of to my face shape, and my underlying bone structure stuck out more on that side. im hoping with palate expansion i can expand the left side a little more than the right, which should even them out

When I had the revision, Dr Comert had 2 new titanium plate designs for the jaw surgery brackets. one of the designs had no middle piece bridging the two halves. I told him I'd prefer that one so i could get the palate expansion, so he used that one. so when we expand, the two halves will move independently, no need to remove anythingNopeWhen I had the revision, Dr Comert had 2 new titanium plate designs for the jaw surgery brackets. one of the designs had no middle piece bridging the two halves. I have seen someone else mention this before. I was hoping itd push my whole face around there out; my pyriform area is really weak; i was going to augment this area. do you have any examples where the palate expansion made someones mid face look worse? id definitely want to seeif you plan on getting a palate expansion just for your teeth/smile, I would reconsider, a palate expander is not much of a cosmetic procedure and will easily descend you, it will make your nasal cavity waaaay wider changing your nose and push your whole upper face out and make those already obvious gaps in your teeth even more obvious and spaced
would that allow me to have more than a 6 tooth smile?a good set of veneers will be 10x the ROI and result than palate expansion, giving you a flawless set of a perfect white smile without any changes to your nose or face
hadnt ever thought of that before so im not too worried bout it. maybe in another round of surgeries if its cheap i can just throw it in but its not something id prioritizeView attachment 4943911View attachment 4943912
you should consider having your ears pinned back too, huge noticable improvement and difference with such a small change would be high ROI
I did get a rhino recently, definitely needed it. someone bumped an old threadMirin the results bro
If u ever wanted to get another surgery I feel like rhino would work a lot but it could be just From inflammation from the surgery idk
Yeah i had mentioned wanting it before the djs but my surgeon said id be fine without it. but nah i still want it. upper palate has 38mm inter molar distance with hefty outward tipping. lower palate is 38mm as well but with slight inward tipping. makes me think i could upright the top teeth, expand them 1cm, then just outward tip the lower teeth a couple mm.Have you gotten your palate measured since you're so set on MARPE? Marpe also can often end up highly assymetrical and its usually recommended to do that before doing a double jaw surgery so assymetry can be corrected using a segmental lefort as far as im aware.
Ideally shoulda done the rhino after expansionYeah i had mentioned wanting it before the djs but my surgeon said id be fine without it. but nah i still want it. upper palate has 38mm inter molar distance with hefty outward tipping. lower palate is 38mm as well but with slight inward tipping. makes me think i could upright the top teeth, expand them 1cm, then just outward tip the lower teeth a couple mm.
hoping for sarpe
yeah ideally sarpe woulda been the first thing i did. or talked him into a segmental leforte. i had alar base reduction on the rhino though and that makes it a lot less likely to widen from the expansion. with how they tie it up i guessIdeally shoulda done the rhino after expansion
I believe 36-39mm is the norm, someone correct me if I'm wrongYeah i had mentioned wanting it before the djs but my surgeon said id be fine without it. but nah i still want it. upper palate has 38mm inter molar distance with hefty outward tipping. lower palate is 38mm as well but with slight inward tipping. makes me think i could upright the top teeth, expand them 1cm, then just outward tip the lower teeth a couple mm.

They said it's average but it's average cuz these mfers go and pull teeth and yank them back. used to be closer to 50. a good good smile is gunna be closer to 50 still. mine looks pathetic:I believe 36-39mm is the norm, someone correct me if I'm wrong
Hmm yeah, not sure if thats fixable with only dental work. A surgeon I talked to said segmentals leforts are stable up to 5mm, the whole marpe process seems like a pain in the ass, and the risk of assymetry and looking uncanny. If 5mm is enough for you I would consider segmental lefort as its much more controlled. They said it's average but it's average cuz these mfers go and pull teeth and yank them back. used to be closer to 50. a good good smile is gunna be closer to 50 still. mine looks pathetic:

hella corridors.
i would love to look uncanny dude i just about wrapped up my chapter as an ugly mfer, i sure as hell wouldnt mind being good looking to the point its unnaturalHmm yeah, not sure if thats fixable with only dental work. i really wonder if the asymmetry people get is due to stomach or side sleeping. i already got used to sleeping on my back cuz of the djs so i feel like that would mitigate a lot of the risk. definitely not in the mood for a second djs thoughYeah I get that. You've definitely have had life changing results for the better. There's people here far more knowledgeable than me on this matter. Just make sure that you weigh up all the risks, as MARPE can't really be "undone" if you expand too much etci would love to look uncanny dude i just about wrapped up my chapter as an ugly mfer, i sure as hell wouldnt mind being good looking to the point its unnaturali really wonder if the asymmetry people get is due to stomach or side sleeping. i already got used to sleeping on my back cuz of the djs so i feel like that would mitigate a lot of the risk. definitely not in the mood for a second djs though
yeah its definitely a touch decision. it would be far easier to just augment the hell out of my mid face and id likely get every aesthetic result i wouldve got from sarpe except the smile. but a crazy smile looks sick.Yeah I get that.
