A 2 psl is like a person who is uglier than 95% of people. In a room of 20 random people, a 2 is likely the ugliest. A 3 is uglier than ~2/3s of people but most people aren't meaningfully ugly or attractive, just around average, so you probably wouldnt call them ugly irl, but call them below average for sure.

PSL rating is supposed to actually be accurate, following the guidelines of aesthetics, and comparing to general population as a whole
