A consequence of pride

Lets take a look at Punjabis shall we. Punjabis in India are the proudest group of people when it comes to "serving the country". What did they get in return ? Their state going from top to bottom in terms of wealth since Independence. One would think that a state that sacrifices its sons for the nation ought to get more than others. Yet, this state is not even industrialised to the degree of shitholes. Its still agrarian and a shitty one at that. Imagine the farmland held by single individuals in Anglo countries. The average Punjabi owns about 1/10th as much probably, even less. They are only remembered when the nation has to send its thoughts and prayers and forgotten everywhere else. Infra projects ? Nope. Upcoming industry centers ? Nope. Institues of National Eminence ? Nope. Punjab gets zilch. The only thing it got was its males sterilised against their will by the government they are proud to serve. Let me add salt to the wound, no Indian outside of Punjab even knows about the sterilisation and if they do they make jokes about it. So what did Punjabis get out of this pride, the sacrifices of its sons ? A spit from the state. Never fight for your country. Its a humiliation ritual

When Punjabis asked for freedom, they got their holy place attacked. This is what military service gets a community. Disrespect. The nation disrespects Punjab. Its one of the most disgusting things I have seen in my life
