• If accutane is basically a megadose of vitamin A, why don't people just take multiple vitamin A supplements? Will it give the same effect?

vitamin A converts partially to retinoic acid through normal metabolic pathways, but isotretinoin bypasses that process entirely and binds receptors with far greater potency and specificity, particularly in sebaceous glands. If you megadose vit A you will get vitamin A toxicity

Yep. Vitamin A doesnt work at all the same as accutane.

But why not get it prescribed? Its cheap and routine as fuck
