In this thread i will simplify what Accutane is and how to use it properly to minimise risks and maximise clearance of skin. This guide is mainly for retards who go into methods blindly without any risk assessment. :feelsbadman:

Accutane (Isotretinoin) is an oral retinoid used to treat severe acne. It works by downregulating sebaceous gland activity, leading to reduction in sebum production, Suppression of acne-causing bacteria , shrunken pores and decreased inflammation. By targeting all major mechanisms of acne, Accutane can lead to long-term clearing of acne.

The following side effects include:
Dry lips, skin, eyes

Nose bleeds (due to dryness) not as common
Fatigue
joint pain
More sensitive to sunlight

mood changes - also not common

Short pratical list to reduce sides include:
Drink plenty water
Moisturise lips (vaseline/aquaphor)
Moisturise and spf50 for skin
Lubricating eye drops

fish oils

When dosing Accutane, the following principles should be applied:
0.5–1 mg/kg/day (120–150 mg/kg cumulative dose)
6 months daily use

Take with biggest meal (Containing fat)

nice guide if i may i’ll add a couple of lesser known (but useful) things:
  • I experienced severe dryness on my hands and other parts of the body (forearms, shoulder region…), drinking more can mitigate this
  • Remember to not megadose any fat-soluble vitamins (mainly A and D) since accutane already stresses the liver, for the same reason don’t abuse alcohol or other hepatotoxic drugs
  • The drug will stress your skin quite a lot so you might want to drop or reduce your normal skin care if you have one (I have a different one now that has helped me reduce the inflammation as well)
  • usually starting with a lower dose and increasing it after two weeks to a month is advised to see how your body reacts to it
Also remember that it will probably be worse before becoming better:feelsmage:
