I’ve been on Accutane 20 mg for about a month and one to two weeks, and for the last week I’ve been taking 40 mg. I’ve been getting some pretty bad nosebleeds. Is there anything I can do to prevent them or should I just hope they get better?

when do you usually get the nose bleeds?

Maybe it started right before I went up to 40 mg or a little after I don’t really remember. They aren’t that bad though. Most of the time my nose just feels very dry, and if I scratch it, it starts bleeding.

There's nothing you can do about it. It happens because the inside of your nose gets very dry. Just wait until the treatment is over.

Accutane dries the skin including skin inside of the nostril that makes you more prone to nose bleeds you just gotta get used to it for accutane results

I tried antihistamines at the start but stopped for some reason.Which antihistamine have you been using?

My skin used to be insanely oily but now it’s dry. It’s not too bad though. I’m also using a topical antibiotic prescribed by my dermatologist, so the dryness could be from that as well.

Every morning and night put a thin layer of aquaphor on the inside of your nostrils

The reason you get random nosebleeds is because the skin in your nose is super dry and when it cracks it bleeds so keep it moisturized and that’s all u can do

Dont take higher doses. I took 20mg for 6 months, 10 years ago and never ever had acne again in my life

Yeah but I saw somewhere that if you don’t reach the minimum cumulative dose during the course, the acne might come back. I don’t really want to risk that and would rather just get it over with.
