Accutane... why avoid it?
besides spamming spf and moisturizer bcs your skin gets photosensitive and dry asf, is there any other precaution you'd recommend for someone on accutane?

Vaseline for your lips every day, and don't do anything intense to ur skin while on accutane

I recently messed up and did vit c after not letting my skin barrier heal from tret and fucked my face up completely, was red for a week I think

dont use accutane its a drug and a fuckass one. Hop on retinoids like tretition. Apply only at night get it perscribed by a doctor, they will easily give it to you since you qualify.

so while on accutane am I supposed to stop even day-to-day skincare routine products like niancinamide, azelaic acid, and exfoliants (like salicylic acid)?

and if so, would this also apply to microdose regimens (10mg EOD)?

yes, especially exfoliants

you can try azelaic acid and niancinamide if you're microdosing, but still be careful

i deadass couldn't touch my face after that tret situation, shits horrific

yeah, my skin is not bad enough to the point where i really need accutane, and I already have a ton of it anyways, I've just lowered the dosages and using 0.025% every 2-3 days now as opposed to 0.05% every day like I was using before

Accutane is a retinoid. Just like tret.

Aged look, dry skin, dry lips, lowers dht, lowers test, lowers IGF-1, harms liver, acne bounceback, depression and mood swings, worsens eye bags, during treatment the skin looks worse.
what an absolute retard wow

1. You implied accutane (a retinoid) isnt a retinoid
now I'll just start replying to segments individually

dry skin, dry lips
temporarily, this dissapears a bit after you use it
lowers test, lowers IGF-1
Wrong, even if it causes it then itd be insignificant amounts and would instantly quickly back
depression and mood swings
wtf are you talking about, where are you getting this bullshit from
worsens eye bags, during treatment the skin looks worse.
"worsens eyebags" find me a study on this, what? I mean it makes your skin thinner but so does like every retinoid there is?? wtf

and yes it makes your skin look worse at the start.. that's called a purging phase. Tret also has a purging phase
Topical Use = Targeted Action, Fewer Systemic Effects

Its also designed for long term, With life long benefits with not stopping point.
You're acting like you get cancer from the systematic effects, barely anything happens, minor liver damage MIGHT happen with SOME people, but you get it checked when on accutane with your derma anyways?

wtf is this guy on

if all your claims were correct then nobody should be getting on accutane

that is quite an accusation to put out without any sort of evidence...?

if I do start accutane do you recommend a certain dosage or regimen or is that up to dermatologist

Your a fucking idiot
Oh my god are we seriously doing this

Result: Thirty-one studies met the inclusion criteria. In the controlled studies, the change in depression scores from baseline was not significantly different between patients receiving isotretinoin treatment and those receiving an alternative treatment (standardized mean difference [SMD] -0.334, 95% confidence interval [CI] -0.680 to 0.011). The prevalence of depression after isotretinoin treatment significantly declined (relative risk [RR] 0.588, 95% CI 0.382-0.904). The mean depression scores significantly decreased from baseline (SMD -0.335, 95% CI -0.498 to -0.172).

Depression: Not significant

Did you even read the articles you sent?
1763951380852

why would you send a correction article if you went through it?

Not to mention you cite "emjreviews" which is completely garbage, meaning that 2 of the links in your list are already useless

And acne relapses after accutane & tretinoin, that's how retinoids work, relapsing isnt avoidable? what?

Your a fucking idiot
You're*
This serves as a correction and redirection. You're making a fool of yourself by citing garbage sources and not reading what you're sending yourself

and wtf is this?? are you citing a study made on a literal single-digit amount of people to support your point? This doesn't take into account any external factors, if I did a study on 20 people who were on accutane, and just so happened to have blasted 1g of test in the background, I can't conclude that accutane causes muscle growth, this is an uncontrolled environment on an INSANELY little amount of people, teenagers are prone to depression, especially nowadays.

if I do start accutane do you recommend a certain dosage or regimen or is that up to dermatologist
your derma will decide, but 25-35mg to start with is normal

As a background note, I'm not interested in "debating" somebody who clearly does not look through their sources, which implies you're chatgpting all of this, my reply will likely be pasted entirely into your GPT conversation.

I've made a point about how online debates are useless nowadays because of the ability to paste shit into gpt and copy the response, this is going nowhere, I'll keep replying, you'll keep gpt-ing, no point in this.

If accutane was as bad as you say it is, it wouldn't be the gold standard.
