Addiction is just an excuse to be an asshole

Up until recently in history the whole notion of drug/alcohol addiction didn't even exist. It was literally made up by the emerging psychological class of doctors. 90% of so called 'addicts' have shit-tier personality and almost no impulse control.

Yes, I get it that physical addiction can make it more painful to stop using a substance. But with the exception of maybe super dangerous shit like heroin it's not some impossible feat. Withdrawal symptoms also only become a problem if you abused the substance in the first place.

Some people are just naturally impulsive and/or have a hard time understanding the consequences of what they are doing. Drug addicts almost always have below average IQ.

pretty much. they use it as an excuse for every bad thing they do. its like they feel like they shouldnt have to be treated the same as everyone else. almost in denial about how difficult this world is
