I haven't seen anyone on this platforrm talking about adenoid so imma explain it.
Adenoids (also known as pharyngeal tonsils) are small pads of lymphoid tissue located at the back of the nose and the roof of the throat (nasopharynx). They are part of the immune system and help trap germs entering through the mouth and nose, acting as a first line of defense against pathogens.
Ok so we know it helps our body defend pathogens and stuff but the bad fact about it is that it can obstruct your airway. But why does it happens?
It happens cause the Adenoid grows more than it needs and hypertrophy. Ive had it for 12 years of my life with 90% obstruction wich caused me to mouth breath and recessing pretty much every feature in my entire face, leading me to have an 130-140 gonial angle (i didint measure it yet).
The only way to correct the adenoid is trough surgery in my country Brazil the surgery is R$1500-R$3000. I dont know the prices from other countries but you can easily search it
There is a chance of the Adenoid coming back to your body so it is good to as your doctor if it is worth or not worth to do the procedure.
