Advantage of Lefort vs Camouflage Orthodontics?

What's the advantage of getting Lefort 1 surgery as opposed to camouflage orthodontic? My mandible and chin are already good, but my maxilla is flat and recessed. My orthodontist pushed my top teeth forward many years ago when I had braces to disguise my very slight underbite. My current aesthetic problems are:

- Alar base is set back, resulting in an Asian-like flat nose and profile
- Nose tip is downturned
- Nose appears bigger due to recessed base
- Upper lip is slightly out of proportion with lower lip
- Bloated-looking, flat face
- Nasolabial folds

Would getting decompensation followed by Lefort 1 fix those issues? I have a very slight underbite so not sure if the advancement would be enough to fix it. Would I need a high cut Lefort 1 to fix those or would a regular one suffice?

What aesthetic effects would it have though? My lip occlusion looks normal because of my camouflage ortho. What would the change be after decompensation + LF1? Wouldn't it look exactly the same?

Maybe you need Bimax if you have bloated face

You will fix most of things with a 5mm lefort 1, but you need to create this gap
