Trades is the way to go. Good money in HVAC. Electrical. Sometimes welding but that's hard and dirty work. Hvac is pretty good. Still hard but the pay is super high when you become contractor. Depends. Trades will never go away. Don't ever do fucking retail unless your management or above

I’m dropping out of uni for engineering in a week and gonna become an electrician

Remember everyone needs power and heating and air. That alone sets the demand to sky's the limit. HVAC will be the last thing to go away from robots and AI. Same for plumbing and electrical. They are secure safe bets for long term. It's very hard to make ai understand the nuance for going under a house for writing or getting into attics to move a heavy ass HVAC unit by hand or with a partner. It's sweaty hard work but it's good pay.

If you can program and love to adapt fast I bet you could. I wanted to get a basic programming job in Japan. Almost secured it untill my passport wouldn't renew. Fucked me up. Find a job in Japan that needs programs. Tons of USA companies who are based there and NEED talent and they will pay for you to move there.

I feel ya. My girl tried to teach me. I learned basic level kid japanese. Only way to learn Japanese is just go there and visit. You sorta figure out what signs mean pretty quickly and there's Duolingo.
