After using benzoyl peroxide am I supposed to wash it off?

Because I see a few videos by doctors that say that you can wash benzyl peroxide gel off after 30 minutes and then continue your skin care routine. But I'm not sure if this is optimal so I'm wondering if I'm just supposed to keep it on and put on my niacinamide after
