If you’re even remotely aware of the discussions going on within Silicon Valley right now you should be terrified. They are preparing for the prospect of mass unemployment resultinh from widespread AI integration & job replacement within pretty much every white collar field, and they are doomsday prophesising about a “permanent underclass” developing and solidifying within the next 10-20 years.

Not only that, but the advances being made right now in surveillance and defense technologies from companies like Palantir and Anduril are nothing short of dystopian. Think detailed 24/7 algorithmic surveillance and profiling on literally everyone to determine if you’re a threat to the system, how productive you are, your risk profile for insurance purposes etc. Privacy will be nonexistent within a decade. And developments in autonomous warfare are nothing short of horrifying when you consider the implications..

In the past, when the security apparatus of a nation finally gets fed up with the ruling class due to popular mobilisation, the leaders get deposed. Leaders must, at the very least, have the security apparatus on their side, and it must be capable of quashing any sort of rebellion. But imagine it they no longer need a mandate, as the security forces are automated, nigh omnipresent and omniscient and totally loyal.. revolt or regime change becomes impossible. An eternal, permanent state. This also means the leaders no longer need to keep the people happy.. there is no longer a limit on how much value you can extract from your underclass

Worse still.. what happens when you also automate industry? You don’t even need workers any more. First you automate the desk jockeys, then you come for the managerial class, then automate manual labour and all of a sudden there’s no need for a human touch, other than for someone to own the means of production.. the people are now a burden.

The people don’t produce anything, the automated security apparatus is far stronger than their collective might.. in our elites eyes, the rest of humanity is redundant

At this point, they could genocide the entire underclass. In fact, it would now be in their best interest.

The point where process is possible and irreversible will likely be in 20 years or so. Do with this information what you will 🙃

dnr, if ai is a threat to you then ur not doing enough with your life

Jfl you have absolutely no sway or influence on how this affects you if you actually read it

Dnr a thread but then make a comment on the thread

Ugh
u think i read it, i made an assumption that he wrote about the same bullshit that everyone who fears ai does

I know you didn't read it

It's the concept behind expecting OP to reply to your bullshit when you didn't even read the thread AND THEN you boasted about not reading it.

Ugh
Honestly I hate some of these people so much
I find it hard to advocate for humanity when so many of us are so willing to be mindless slaves and so content with losing our attention span to the point where 4 paragraphs is an essay

Anyone who cannot focus on a post of this length should be deeply embarassedb with the state of their own cognition

I didn’t and you are a mindless slave for advocating for the tools that will be used to automate you out of existence

Again, utterly embarrassing for you if you can’t focus on a post of this length, you were clearly interested enough to engage with it so its just a cognition issue
