This happened a long time ago. They were laughing in the courtroom about it. If you ask me, a life sentence is far worse than being executed. Lot of these guys got nothing to lose, and although that makes them dangerous in prison, they can always be shipped to a level 5 or 6 where they spend 23 hours in their cell rotting away. That's far better than death penalty, much more suffering.
