angularity should be distributed between misc and dimo
when rating female faces 10 ang and 10 dimo is contradictory
and if we change the ideal for angularity for females its gonna be something that isnt very impressive and the top 40% of women will all have 9+ angularity
angularity also isnt as important as any of the other pillars
having poor harmony, misc, or dimo (though dimo less so) can be very brutal
but poor ang? that alone cannot do nearly as much to your face
angularity should be accounted for heavily in ratings but not as an individual pillar

i mean im not saying it doesnt matter, but making it its own pillar and placing it alongside the likes of harmony and misc is counterproductive, it should be accounted for as part of misc and dimo
harmony formula is problematic i dont like it

I agree but every pillar is important and contributes to the other and its level of contribution is so fine that it can't accurately be represented in any formula that isnt 25/25/25/25, anything else would just be bias

i mean a lot of times it can seem as though the rating system is harmony centered but harmony is the backbone of the rating system. without harmony all we have really is just misc (dimo is really just a combination of both misc and harmony but i think that giving it its own pillar IS essential and productive), and misc does not account for proportional flaws, such as esr, tfwhr, and midface ratio which prove very important in facial aesthetics. judging people based off misc entirely leaves a major hole in the rating system, and at that point what REALLY separates us from normies rating faces?

too high harmony leads to same face syndrome where you start losing uniqueness and become a generic chad

supposedly there's a huge difference in their harmony scores but i think they're on the same looks level

faces with not too high harmony are more memorable and interesting to look at

i mean just because it has the status of pillar doesnt mean we should assume everything is equal
i think its pretty obvious that having hollow cheeks and prominent zygos is not on the same par as having top tier misc, which is practically every facial feature that isnt based on proportion, definitely much more important

havent really taken either of their harm scores but i dont think somerhalders is as low as some people make it out to be
though i would say both are chads bomer is definitely better looking since he takes harmony, misc, and dimo

Having hollow cheeks and prominent zygos influences several harmony ratios and bone/feature miscellaneous scoring and influences dimorphism lol

So the example u gave is bad

Somerhalder mogs
too high harmony is a flaw

It's not bomer isn't a good example

i dont like it because the dataset was most likely created using very specific faces that all look alike
theres many people with elite level beauty who have large "harmony flaws"
i just associate it with tiktokcels calling everyone harmonylets not realizing that uniqueness is also an important factor to have top tier beauty meaning having 100% wouldnt be ideal because you would just look like a basic chad

are the "attractive" faces just a bunch of psl autist models or actually good looking faces with high appeal
is this why 1:1 midface and wide esr is "ideal"
they shouldve just used faces of actors with most female fans

honestly imo the basic chad look is ideal you dont need strikingness to be attractive
You need to be striking to be high cl

lol
why no
im sure if you really gathered a large enough sample size of faces and averaged it out you would get an attractive face with higher everyday appeal than psl models

and the ideal range of ratios would be different

Yup but no one here is a statistician or a scientist so no one will ever do this

ok but his coloring is unique and he has an overall softer look to him with lower angularity than most chads which is why his face stands out
well i mean you could aloso add that since he has 9 harm he stands out

knowing what youre talking about is an arbitrary idea
Sure yeah but the difference between me and you is I can actually substantiate things

I can fully explain everything I'm talking about meanwhile you just theorize with loose concepts that you nor anyone else has really bothered to truly think about

The moment you do it begins to fall apart
have you actually measured it
with an unedited undistorted shot
