Plenty of south asians play cricket and are very good but you won't find many south asians playing for professional teams due to the culture of racism which came up in a controversy with an old respected club recently.

For football you have to assume its a combination of racism and cultural factors that means south asians are overrepresented in fields such as medicine or any field basically where you can get a job just by being qualified rather than having to rely on interview performance which can be affected by the prejudice of the people conducting the hiring.

Boxing is probably the only major one where you see south asians primarily the pakistani community having success, but its not a team sport.

Team sports lad culture of binge drinking is not going to make it appealing to young muslims and hindus tend to have even stronger cultural factors that cause them to not play sports.
