Antibiotic before Accutane?

My derm prescribed me Doxycycline for four months before starting Accutane. Is it to reduce the initial purge of accutane?

I havent started yet, he just told me the plan today. 4 months of doxy then accutane

Then they probably had the initial purges in mind like you were thinking.

In my opinion, antibiotics aren't worth it as they mess up your gut microbiome so horribly, an alternative approach would be to start with isotretinoin now, but with a lower dose and gradually going up to what was initially planned so you still reduce the purging that is coming.

I've personally been on doxycycline for 3 months, it cleared most of what I had up, doctor decided it was enough and a few months later it all came back so it was overall a net negative for me.

That shit is terrible. All antibiotics are terrible they ruin your gut and as soon as you get off them your acne relapses. Just get Accutane and fix your diet bro. Simple.

Yeah he knows that when you stop taking doxycycline the acne comes back, but thats why he said to take accutane right after. To reduce the purge. Idk if that how it really works though.

was on doxy fo 3 months and can attest to the fact that stuff nukes your gut. as for results its mostly placebo, i noticed the smallest bit of clearing up and my pore size/skin texture remained the exact fuckin same. if your visiting a derm ask for tret cream since its the alternative to doxy or level up to accutane

I already did tret for a year, shit stopped working after 9months. The only solution is accutane, but my derm wont give me before doing doxycycline for 4 months because he said that a lot of patients experience a really bad purge with accutane

Don’t take doxycycline it will make it worse, only take accutane.

Doxycycline just destroys all gut bacteria including good bacteria and isn’t anywhere as good as accutane.

I know that but if i take accutane immediately then my acne will purge and cause way more scarring. Gut health will fix itself with time, but scarring will take way longer to blend off

Gut health takes years to actually heal and isn’t worth it. I would take accutane and microneedle and high spf suncream for scars.

U need to find the best most trusted steroids lab that deliver to your country, they usually sell accutane.

If u go on steroids Reddit u can usually find trusted labs.

I live in the US and I did get some from indiamart but not as much as the they said would be delivered. Haven't used yet i need more for a 6 month cycle.
