Any tips how to avoid or at least minimize purging from retinoids?

Want to use either adapalene or tret against acne and aging, but I saw some brutal cases of purging that could last for months.

Of course, I'm pretty fucking far from being OK with that. So any tips how to avoid or minimize this fuckery, besides "just wait it out bro :soy:" ?

Start slowly by applying it only every other day (or even every third day) and moisturize your skin 30min after applying retinol.
