Lately I’ve been dealing with something that’s becoming exhausting, and I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing or knows why it happens.

I’m obsessed with making my Instagram profile look perfectly cohesive. I don’t just want good photos—I want the entire feed to have the exact same aesthetic, colors, lighting, mood, and overall vibe. If one post looks even slightly out of place, it genuinely bothers me.

I’ve spent the last few days uploading the same two photos, deleting them, tweaking tiny things like brightness, warmth, contrast, or color grading, reposting them, checking my grid, then deleting them again because something still doesn’t feel “right.”

The weird part is that the changes are almost invisible. Most people probably couldn’t tell the difference, but to me they feel significant.

I also get anxious that people have noticed I’ve uploaded and deleted the same posts multiple times and think I’m weird or unstable.

I know aesthetics and personal branding matter, especially if you’re into looksmaxxing, but this doesn’t feel normal anymore. It feels like no matter what I do, I’m never satisfied.

Has anyone else gone through this?

More importantly, why does this happen? Is it perfectionism, OCD, anxiety, or something else? And if you’ve dealt with it, what actually helped you stop chasing an aesthetic that never feels “finished”?

I’d really appreciate any advice because it’s starting to take the fun out of posting anything.
