I have OCD. I was diagnosed in the early 2010s. What do you want to ask/know?

I was told that OCD is very commonly developed amongst PTSD patients.

It really isn’t. Overthinking also got me a oneitis and she rejected me. :feelswah: Overthinking is my worst enemy.
I was similar when I was younger. Likely drugs which did that to me.

I’m also the same with plug sockets I’ve always got to check if they’re turned off

What are your obsessions and compulsions then?

or will be cursed by people's evil eye

my compulsions are touching things, not touching things, looking at stuff twice or not looking at it etc

What kind of OCD do you guys have?
I used to have a lot of religious intrusive thoughts but now not as much. Mostly contamination, counting, checking, stuff like that

Overthinking sucks. I remember when I was spontaneous AF, I only started overthinking around 15. Now I’m almost 30.

Right, that’s religious OCD (how I call that).

Same here, mine is akin to germophobia so I tell people I’m germophobic since OCD is kind of difficult to explain. I also do a lot of checking. And then I also have intrusive thoughts and images.

Same, before bed I have to check if certain objects are in the right places if not it creates bad scenarios in my head

I weant to get amygdelectomy thru gamma ray technology in india for 4000$ and be free from it and my ptsd

my mental health providers won't give me it

That sounds somewhat better than me. Sometimes I leave the house and then I start worrying whether or not I locked the door (even though when I get out of the house, I already check a couple of times). It’s fucked.

try getting your health care provider if you're on medicare,to give you a anterior capsulotomy.

Did you know that OCD is one of the two mental illnesses for which lobotomies are still used? It’s brootal.

You see, I really don’t remember when my overthinking started. I think I was naturally quite prone to it; you probably don’t remember our chat but my mum would’ve made me a bit prone to it in some shape or form, seemingly.

I do think that it worsened with many progressions, age, stress, drug-use, etc.

You’re only 23, by the way, son. What are you talking about?

I’ve done that before, the only way I fixed this was too literally take a video of me locking the door

Same. Do you have flare ups too? I’ve noticed that mine has gotten really bad in the last 6 months or so. I had actually managed to kind of keep it in check for almost a year before that but it’s since returned

What exactly do you mean by “flare ups”? English isn’t my first language.

I’m turning 30 later this year. What makes you think I’m “only 23”? Yes, I don’t remember our chat because I’m forgetful but now I sort of remember now that you mentioned your mother. I remember that you love her.

gamma ray beams don't drill in your skull, you can get amygdeloctomy in india for 4000$ dollars with gamma ray beam tech,it's hyper precise and quick,no sedation needed and you can leave the hospital in a day.

I was joking! You used to hate being called 30, now it’s becoming a reality. They grow up so fast.

This is so relatable to me, I thought this was just me who thought like this. Sometimes I have to look at a certain person twice, not because I’m weird but my brain just tells me too

It's the worst shit ever. Had I not have an OCD, life could be a dream. Tons of medication or therapy did nothing. It can randomly make you insane for hours and by the same token it drives you to isolation and negligence for you plans, dreams, relationships, education, work and so on. I can only compare the intense episode od OCD to living in hell.

The only things I can recommend you guys are NAC (at least 500 mg/day - there are studies out there and it proved really useful for me), adaptogens (Ashwagandha - percent of withanolides is crucial for optimizing your daily dose, Rhodiola rosea to counter sedating effects of Ashwagandha in the morning) and sports activity, especially longer sessions of ressistance training to up your endorphins and dynorphins. If meds prescribed by the doctors are working in your favour - I'm really happy for you. But if everything fails and even TMS won't cut it - that's something that can ease your day if just a little.

It's not a medical advice. Consult your doctor, especially if you are going to add any of it to your meds.

Right, I assumed that's what you meant but I wasn't sure. My OCD was at its worst back in the early 2010s but starting from around the mid 2010s, it's gotten a lot less worse. Sometimes I almost deal with flare ups but it's only when I happen to get into a fight (which I always try to avoid), and then it takes a couple of months before I finally feel clean again. That's why even if I get into a fight, I will not fight back, just so I can contain the contamination. It's fucked up, but it is what it is.
