anyone know about these “at home” palate expanders

came across these relatively cheap “expanders” and obviously the answer would be go to an orthto and get one but no dentist has really told me i need one even though my palate is objectively narrow, the problem is im 15 and can’t really do it all by my self so i was wondering if something like this would work and even id it does work will it fuck my face up?
