Unlike wealth and "money", tech innovations eventually trickle down. Think early computer days, only governmental agencies such as nasa and the fbi had these slow ass pcs but now practically everyone in the developed world has a cellular phone with a touchscreen interface in their pocket.
The biggest reason I have never seriously thought of killing myself was curiosity for the future tbh. Like even if I was homeless with a laptop the world is still so interesting we live in one of the most unique times in history in 50 years the world will be so different I think I owe it to myself to at least see how this world turns out.

Another thing to keep in mind is 1st world nations will become a thing of the past with globalization outside of niche areas. California is like Brazil except there is still a lot of money. 50 years ago if you were middle class you could have a family in a nice area with low crime that will not be the case 1st world standards will only exist for those with money.
