Its not like one has domination over another. They are so intertwined its hard to find where corporations end and the government begins or vice versa. They pretty much already have
There's no telling... But I can say that the current reality is a bad sign for the future...Do you think the current global turmoil + technological progress breed a different world system order that will avoid these pitfalls?

What pitfalls .. elabDo you think the current global turmoil + technological progress breed a different world system order that will avoid these pitfalls?

@Witheredly90 talked about the future having a cyberpunk theme, high tech & low life. What pitfalls .. elab
How is that a pitfall exactly?@Witheredly90 talked about the future having a cyberpunk theme, high tech & low life.
Look at what he said up there. He's worried about drastic inequality and a bit of authoritarianismHow is that a pitfall exactly?
Well look at California as a good case study of America's future. Its the most diverse state highest GDP highest poverty highest amount of wealth.Look at what he said up there. He's worried about drastic inequality and a bit of authoritarianism
Tbh it's all just baseless speculation at this point. But if the world does turn to a cyberpunk esc "dystopia" ran by mega corporations then we'll probably be seeing a sense of inequality that has never been witnessed before - in a very very bad wayLook at what he said up there. California already feels like cyberpunk. Literally homeless people shooting up heroin on the streets and then gated communities a block away worth 10 mil a house. Its just so weird it doesn't look like a 1st world country I legit thought I was in Mexico in parts of LA.Tbh it's all just baseless speculation at this point. Like literal demigods with a lifespan of 400 and microchipped 300 IQ brains over seeing a class of peasants who are basically just humans without any artificial advancements.
As @Witheredly90 said, fun if you have the wealth and connections, not very fun if you find yourself at the bottom of the hierarchy. But that's how life has always been so idk
Same with new york. The disparity between the economic classes are insane, one borough will be a shithole rampant with homeless guys doing crack and the next you're in manhatten. I can't even imagine what it would be like when the upper classes of society get their hands on genetic engineering and nanotech, it'll be gigaover for poorcels at that point.California already feels like cyberpunk. But then in some areas it was super nice too...
It also has a lot to do with the 3rd world coming to the West. In LA people were all speaking Spanish and there was no real identity.Same with new york. But yes kinda feels like we're already in a dystopia, but it's just ever so slowly increasingly getting worse and no one seems to really care
The wealth disparity is similar in pretty much all western countries, even the ones that are pseudo white ethno states, but I guess immigration will accelerate itIt also has a lot to do with the 3rd world coming to the West. In LA people were all speaking Spanish and there was no real identity.
So really the average person is just becoming a poor mutt with no means. The US average IQ has been decreasing since the 70s.
Yeah but if people are all in a homogeneous society wealth disparity is less important. Its also more likely to work itself out. In a completely mutt society then its easier to divide and control people. The wealth disparity is similar in pretty much all western countries, even the ones that are pseudo white ethno states, but I guess immigration will accelerate it
Eastern Asian countries will be the first to be hit by the wave of advanced tech and they're already crumbling despite being ethnically homogenous.Yeah but if people are all in a homogeneous society wealth disparity is less important. There was a leaked email exchange with Amazon executives where they found the amount of diversity in an amazon facility correlated with less unions. Diverse societies are low trust societies this is why even a slum in Japan is safe your not going to get hurt by homeless people in Japan.
Yeah but Asia is still a safe place to live at least. I meant more so diverse areas breed less community. People are also more distrusting of one another then a more hostile society and money will matter more.Eastern Asian countries will be the first to be hit by the wave of advanced tech and they're already crumbling despite being ethnically homogenous.
It's predicted that China's population will be half of its current size by the end of the century.
True, I agree.Yeah but Asia is still a safe place to live at least. I meant more so diverse areas breed less community. People are also more distrusting of one another then a more hostile society and money will matter more.
And then, Ron DeSantisn becomes president...California already feels like cyberpunk. Literally homeless people shooting up heroin on the streets and then gated communities a block away worth 10 mil a house. Its just so weird it doesn't look like a 1st world country I legit thought I was in Mexico in parts of LA.
But then in some areas it was super nice too... LA used to be the best place to live in the US. In old pictures you see no homeless people everyone looks pretty well dressed. An average man could work there even buy a house Full House a show from the 80's was modeled off an average family. Where in LA they had a house and 3 kids off an average mans salary no way in hell you could do that now.
The rest of the country will become like this very diverse very poor. Houses super expensive and the country will deteriorate outside the upper class
(It's a joke)Giga over would be giga conservative at best to describe thatit'll be gigaover for poorcels at that point.
So much so that it feels like a 2nd language for the city?It also has a lot to do with the 3rd world coming to the West. In LA people were all speaking Spanish and there was no real identity.
So really the average person is just becoming a poor mutt with no means. The US average IQ has been decreasing since the 70s.
Any theories as to why? There was a leaked email exchange with Amazon executives where they found the amount of diversity in an amazon facility correlated with less unions.
What exactly do you mean here? Advance tech will crumble them? Or?Eastern Asian countries will be the first to be hit by the wave of advanced tech and they're already crumbling despite being ethnically homogenous.
Sounds good, but I wonder if there's more to that to be honest.diverse areas breed less community.
I wonder what nation would be like the first techno utopiaTrue, I agree.
What will be really interesting is when Latin American countries eventually make the tech jump. Jfl i don't event want to imagine what a cartel favela state with nanotech and artificial advancements will look like; will actually be over if you step one foot outside of your house.
Just did some research on what nanotech is. If such tech was weaponized it would be over if you even existed.True, I agree.

This show is basically how society is shaping out to be. America is going to be super degen and look like a cyberpunk brazil with the lower classes living in shitholes and the elite living in nice places

Japan, singapore or south korea. If there is a solution to the crisis of the 21st century they will be the first to figure it out as they are going through it the fastest.I wonder what nation would be like the first techno utopia
Oh yeah for sure its spoken more then English in many areas. So much so that it feels like a 2nd language for the city?
Why diversity caused less unions to form? Well... high diversity breeds low trust environments. When people don't trust one another they are less likely to work together or cooperate. I mean look at prison they are very diverse places and they form various racial gangs that's really the natural order when you have a very diverse place without police keeping a lid on things. I could go into the reasons humans are like this but you'll have to do your own research just keep in mind groups have evolved in group preferences for thousands of years.Any theories as to why?
