I've already mentioned it in the mod chat and discussed it plenty, so I'll be requesting user input this time.
Our primary intent is to reduce the overall presence of racist content on the forum & prevent it from dominating our discussions while maintaining free speech, but I had some qualms with the current policy.
With this goal in mind, let's consider two different approaches.
1. The first option is to do away with the current race-baiting rule, due to concerns about its ambiguity and inconsistent application. (E.g. deciding whether a post is just a racist joke or crosses into race-baiting territory).
Instead, deleting or warning those who spam racist content, while clearly defining what constitutes spamming versus regular posting.
It would be easier to identify whether a post is racist than to discern where a racist joke crosses into race-baiting territory, increasing consistency.
2. The second option is to maintain the race-baiting rule following its recent clarification. This would mean continuing with the current guidelines, with the added clarity provided.
While I can't promise the outcome, it's useful to understand user perspective on the matter.
