I am 17 and did my first Aqualyx session (DIY) about a month ago.
As a child (8–11), I was fat as fuck. I am now in much better shape (13–15% BF). However, because I was overweight for a good amount of time, a lot of fat in my cheeks was stubborn and didn't go away, so I opted for Aqualyx.
I injected 4 ml of Aqualyx per cheek (8 ml in total, 0.2 ml per injection point).
What I Used:
- 1 Vial of Aqualyx (8ml)
- Alcohol Swabs
- 0.30mm (30G) x 8mm Syringes
(I did not use any lidocaine since I was to lazy to find and buy little did I know I would highly regret this)
The Process:
I made 20 (4x5) Injection points on each cheek injecting 0.2ml per Point.
Like I mentioned earlier, I didn't use any numbing agents such as lidocaine, Injecting the Aqualyx was extremely painful.
It was an intense sore burn which lasted for a minute (After the first injection I then realised I had to inject ts 39 more times
)
I actually ended up hitting a nerve on my left cheek
(The last injection point on the 2nd row). This was the most painful of all the Injections, I felt a lump on the sides of the inside of my mouth with my tongue.
Nothing serious happened that area of my cheek was just completely numb for 2-3 weeks but then returned back to normal.
The Results:
Before (1 year old photo lol) After
My Verdict:
In normal lighting, my face looks more defined and way leaner. I've also noticed a huge decrease in the amount of fat when pinching my cheeks.
I'm satisfied with the results, but I'm planning to do another session in a year
.
Also, yes the swelling after the session was very depressing
