are braces cope?

I've got crowding so my canines will probably get removed but I don't get it, my palette is too narrow so the solution for that is to make it worse by js taking out the teeth to realign them instead of having a MARPE? I go to a public dentist so that's out the question though, my orthodontist appointment is at the end of the month so should I ask them about expanders? otherwise I won't get braces cs it'll recess me. I'm 15 if that helps when it comes to the bone development or whatever, I'm getting them late
