Are braces ruining my face?

First picture is me about a week before i got my braces and second picture is me now a week after my braces. I can't put any of my teeth on each other because i have these kinds of sticks on the back of my top front teeth. And elastic in be back of mouth. Is my ortho fucking my face up or should i just wait and hope it gets better.
