Are side neck curls the key to an aesthetic neck?

I’ve done front neck curls, extensions, and neck bridges consistently for quite a while now.

My neck has grown about 1.5 inches but it doesn’t look like i expected it too, it still lacks width.

In fact, if I continue to train it with only these exercises I can tell that I’m going to start looking like I have no neck.

The problem with the exercises I chose is they only target the front and the back of the neck, but what I’ve realized is it’s the sides that are the most important.

I’m thinking of devoting the majority of my neck training to the sides

Has anybody done this and seen good results?

it should work but it's hard to hit them with weights

I’ve always used my hands as manual resistance for the front neck curls and it worked so I’ll do the same for the sides

i only ever did the back ones

I do sides, front and back just to make sure i wont miss anything and wont cause muscle imbalances in the future.
Dont do neck bridges they are unnecessary and harmful. I used to exercises with weights but its caused pain so i just use my hands to create necessary resistance.
I've gained 5 cm so far. It has got me from subhuman pencil neck to good neck but gonna push to another 1-2 cm to get mogger neck.

I've been wondering the same thing, brah. It makes perfect sense to do side curls to make the neck appear thicker when looking head on. The main issue is they're so damn awkward to do. I do every direction, as heavy as possible. Didn't see much obvious progress last year & eventually strained a muscle trying to do side curls with a 20kg plate that doesn't have any holes/grips.

This year I'm gonna hit it relentlessly. Just side curls or every direction? I'm not sure yet.

i think the way to go is do the majority of your neck training for the sides and then sprinkle in a little front and back training here and there
