As we learned in school, blue eyes are recessive, brown eyes are dominant, blond hair is recessive, and dark hair is dominant. I thought it was only an unfortunate coincidence that the desired blue eyes and blond hair happen to be recessive traits. But when I compared my parents features’ and mine, I noticed that the least aesthetically pleasing version of each kind of feature basically always trumped its better-looking counterpart in the genetic lottery.
Are alleles that code for ugly looks, dominant?
