Yeah, i agree almost all popular religions are retarded, I dont see how the fact that we understand most of the physical world disproves the necessity of a creator

I doubt a single person on this website is religious.
I dont think so with the new clavicular audience coming on here. A lot of them have republican ideologies. and Republican -> High chance of christianity

All religions, excluding beliefs like Buddhism, are utter nonsense. Deism, agnostic Satanism, and agnosticism are the only beliefs that I know of that make sense to me. Atheism is too much of an absolute, but it still makes more sense than any standard religion.

I'm agnostic because it makes the most sense.

If you have no friends sometimes one needs to feel loved. Also belief in reincarnation
yeah that kind of defeats the whole idea of the blackpill. accept the cold hard truth

isnt this js agnosticism with the added satanism part which doesn't really state anything metaphysical
Yeah, pretty much. A lot of Satanists use Satan as a symbol of rebellion, individualism, pride, and liberty, they don't actually believe in him.

I guess I believe in a god since life is very inexplicable, however for me he is distant god and is not very close to mortal affairs
yeah, life is not that inexplicable since its just very unlikely to form spontaneously from inorganic substances. but possible

I don't know what I believe anymore; I, at least, don't subscribe to religious morality, etc.

Platinga's argument against naturalism (basically a modern atheist beliefs) is self defeating. For context:
Naturalism states that reality consists solely of the physical world, which is best understood through scientific observation, empirical evidence, and testing
  1. Naturalism and modern science state that the theory of evolution is accurate of objective reality.
  2. The Theory of Evolution states that all living beings including you have been naturally selected for survival.
  3. Therefore your mental faculties have been selected only for survivability, not for discovering objective truth.
  4. Therefore there is an "extremely small chance" that your mental faculties (your brain/mind) are reliable at determining truth.
  5. Therefore you shouldn't trust your own ideas and beliefs.

This is a train of thought possible from a modern atheists ideology. Platinga simply points this out and that the fact that it's self defeating.
I've rewritten (except for the quote) this and i'm sleep deprived but it should still be logically coherent.

It's quite a silly argument (similar to "what if life is just a dream?, you cannot know"). And this argument does not prove the existence of god. Platinga was a christaian btw

I personally do not believe in, I dont really believe i can truly know anything really so im kind of an agnostic.
also to anyone who believes i'm using AI to larp iq or something, i wrote this only because i enjoy the discussion because of stims.

religion is setting society back and is a coping mechanism for people who need to feel special and can't accept that there is no reward after dying for the shitty, uneventful life they lived.

Yeah i agree that it is a coping mechanism or indoctrination for most people and only few truly have an atleast non contradictory worldview. But it is not holding the world back. The masses need to religiously believe in good and evil as the law is innefiecient

its absolutely holding the world back, people embrace religious views and approaches to everything which only leads to negligence and lack of progress towards the future.

Basically, all religions say the same thing. Be nice to others and be good people overall. The way I see it is if god exists he can come say wassup and ill start believing in the mf.

you have the unjustified belief that if people will magically work together to make a better world after finding out there is no meaning. without objective morality they have no reason to follow anything other than they're own morality which is instinctual and doesnt lead to good

that would still be better than people binding themselves to a set of moral principles from 2000 years ago when people could simply follow their own morality and think for themselves instead.

But you do also believe you can have hallucinations. Think of all the people that had "seen god" were they justified? maybe, but you dont think they were right

I havent seen a hallucination so idk. If god is so powerful why can't he just give me the same hallucination? Also these hallucinations can't be proven either so unless i get one myself i can't really give an opinion on it.

Cause the alternative is that it was an accident and that's retarded
well yeah it doesnt make sense to think that the universe just popped into existence from nothing, the conclusion it either that its eternal the same way god would be eternal or something eternal caused it. but you do agree that there's no reason to think that that something created the universe has to be omniscient or omnibenevolent:lul: and allat?

I see why you have more posts than rep, absolute retard. If something conscious didn't make it then it is an accident. If the universe is eternal it explains nothing, it'd make more sense for nothing to exist.
