Before and afters are an extremely important source of information. Cosmetic surgery and even non-surgical treatment like fillers are much less popular among men, meaning before and afters for men are harder to come by than those for women (except for certain procedures that are done most by men, like custom implants - you find more male b&a's but still not many).

That being said there is a serious issue with that in that the spread of information is being muddled by shitty before and afters. I'll go over the 3 types of shitty before and afters so you know what I mean, then I'll go over the type of before and after we really should be trying to do.

Type 1: The Normie B&A
Bssogenio

This is a result from a local jaw surgeon of mine. LJS + Genio. She just snapped two different pics at completely different angles. The before and after is shitty because she didn't really care, which is fine because she's a normie. This is the most forgivable imo because these people aren't doing it intentionally

Type 2: The Looksmaxxer B&A
6448957 1781577084242

Probably the most annoying one. Just take the before pic in the most horrible of conditions to make yourself look as subhuman as possible, then do the entire frauding 101 combo in the after. I chose this result because someone made a thread about it a while back, but you can also see it expressed for other types of surgery too.

Another good example would be the type of people who make videos of themselves after doing like 12 things where they are just squinting, going at random frauding angles 24/7 etc - the point is not to actually give an accurate representation of what the surgery changed, but instead to gain the admiration of random dudes on the internet

In my opinion these results in bimax patients are 50% of what has led bimax to being an overrated surgery.

Type 3: The Marketing B&A
Igoralves

Most common in filler clinics. Not all surgeons or clinics do it, but many do. The most reprehensible imo because these are actually businesses we are talking about. Notice how they will use more subtle tricks: for example here you can see how the one taking the photo is using lens distortion especially to their advantage.
Sailer

A good non-filler example is Dr. Sailer, who just says fuck it and takes two completely different pictures. of a dude

How to actually take a good before and after:

It's simple. Choose a location in your home where your camera is roughly eye level. Put the camera there. Stand 2 meters away. Take the photo.

After you're done what you wanna do, just put the camera in the same spot and do it again, trying to replicate the same posture and expression. It doesn't even have to be perfect. By doing just that you are already being more accurate than like 90% of before and afters posted on here, reddit etc.

"But Koops, that sounds autistic. This thread is autistic."

Yeah and this fucking forum is autistic bro. It is also one of the few places on the internet where there is a notable focus on male cosmetic surgery. I think that the information we can provide by actually posting genuine before and afters is worth the 3-5 minutes of trouble it takes to snap an accurate before and after picture. The information you actually provide by taking a good before and after is very valuable, especially when there are so many procedures where we have close to jack shit in terms of results to browse through

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel that I can infer correctly the facial attractiveness of even foreshortened faces.

For example...

Proof? With a name you're skirting the line of defamation and lawsuit. You need to be able to prove in a court of law that the before-and-after is of two different people. Make sure you have proof when you publish something that might cause damages. Better yet is to just be vague and avoid names to avoid the risk.

If they knew your real name, their legal teams could crush you. Not worth it for forum posts. Regardless of ethics, that is what will happen if you're hurting their bottom line. They're so much richer than you that they can just threaten you will lawsuit and you'll fold.

Damn you make a good point. Thanks. Easy to talk your head off online without realizing that kind of thing

Pretty sure kooperino here was just implying that Dr REDACTED wasn’t even trying to give the impression that both pictures (of the same dude) were taken in a similar manner, no? Like in pic 2 he’s just straight up angled differently, better lighting, smiling, and trimmed up beard
