I get mine from a Pakistani store, itโ€™s great stuff but I prefer it without the almonds. Iโ€™ve had Indian barfi before straight from India, but I think they used milk from a different animal. I didnโ€™t like it as much.

It takes really long to make it. You have to be patient. I was stirring for almost an hour.

I only know how to eat
When you make it once, you start to appreciate those who make it. I didnโ€™t realize how mundane the task was, while simultaneously being repetitive and long.

Barfi isn't sold in the streets nigger. You think a street vendor can afford dry fruits.
โ€œTo prepare barfi, khoa (milk solids) is mixed with granulated sugar and cooked, until it thickens to a fudge-like consistency. It is then spread onto a greased plate to cool. After cooling, it is cut into squares, diamonds, or circles. It can also be formed into balls, layered, or rolled into multicolored slices. When served at special occasions, it is often decorated with vark (edible silver foil). It can also be decorated with coconut, ground nuts, or powdered milk.โ€

This isn't what I'm talking about. There's another variant called kaju katli. That is a lot more famous and much richer in taste.

Gulab jamun is my favorite. I donโ€™t know what qurbani ka meetha is, any pictures?

qurbani ka meetha WHATS THIS?
Khubani ka meetha or qubani ka meetha is a dessert made from dried apricots, originating from Hyderabad, India. It is a part of Hyderabadi cuisine and is a common feature at Hyderabadi weddings. Dried apricots from Afghanistan are especially prized for their flavour and commonly used for this dish
