Any other fellow muslimcels deal with this shit? I suck at praying 5 times a day, etc and I don't speak arabic to read the quran, however I fasted every day of Ramadan. Anyways, I've been dealing with doubts about religion and whatnot and suck at following shit like not listening to music and praying 5 times a day.
Anyways, anybody with experience with doubts, how did you get rid of them? Islam is the only thing keeping me from roping ngl

1 You use religion as a coping mechanism
2 You're more worried about fitting into certain groups and connecting with people you have more in common with and are not actually committed to the truth, whether or not what you believe in is actually true is at bottom of your list of priorities. It's more about your own pride and personal ideologies.

Ehhh somewhat. I want to believe in what's right and honestly being seen as an athiest redditor is the last of my worries. I don't wanna go to hell if there's an afterlife, and I believe a higher being most likely created the universe, and I was raised a muslim living in a muslim family my whole life, so a different religion/ none at all would take some time to get used to for sure.

I don’t pray at all and I’m not proud of that. I also listen to music everyday. Unlike most people. I don’t believe music is not allowed. If the lyrics are not about bad things then I don’t see it as a bad thing. The reason music was considered haram is because back then; you had to attend concerts where there were dancing women and also alcoholic drinks being served. But in the 21st century, things are different - I can listen to music while in my room. What’s the harm in that? None. Don’t listen to people who say you aren’t allowed to listen to it. These are the same people who believe our beloved prophet married a 6 or 9 year old when he didn’t. Don’t give up on Islam just because of as innocent as listening to music. You can always make up for lost prayers. You are not a lost cause. You don’t need to speak Arabic. If you can’t pray in Arabic, read it in English. Read the Qu’ran in English as well or your own native language. It gives you a better understanding of Islam as it did in my case when I recently read it in English for the first time. Many misconceptions exist in our community and reading it helped me dispel all those. I got an entire notepad with lessons I learned from reading it and I can share it with you if you want.
