its all cope for not wanting to realise they dont have a real purpose, most people cant come to terms with it so they seek it out with religion. also i would argue theyre mentally ill, imagine religion wasnt a concept and you say an all powerfuk man in the sky loves me so he made my happines in life dependant on something i cant control (genetics, parents wealth, country of birth etc) and if i dont worship him i get tortured eternally. that would not be a mentally sane person

It's incredible how there are still people who believe in something in the middle of 2026

Just not true, the idea that it’s a cope and that people cannot accept there being no afterlife might be true, but that doesn’t make a religion false that just makes the followers not truthful to the religion.

I’m Christian because I’ve received grace. Through that grace I’ve seeked out knowledge that I cannot find refutation to. I’d look into the teachings of St Thomas and his arguments for God they are very convincing.

Would make more sense to me to believe in a purpose than not to

Religion might give you a sense of purpose in life but it’s more of a hassle bc of the concepts of sins and good deeds

The Argument from Motion is not strong whatsoever, what created god? and I know your just gonna say he is eternal but that goes against the fundamental law of his point that nothing is eternal and non causational. The Argument from Causation is pretty much the same as the first. The Argument from Contingency could easily be argued against by the idea of abiogenesis which I believe is how life came about. there is no cause - but in the constant reactiond of the universe, a lifeform which can reproduce was made and yes the chance is incredibly low but we have no real concept of eternity as we experience non eternality. but if you flip 100000000 coins forever, eventually they will all be heads, and lets say that when this happens a human is created, this human will have no idea of the ammount of coin flips which occured before as they only respect a non eternal time frame and have not witnessed the previous. its pretty hard to explain this so hopefully you understand my analogy. what im trying to say is that no matter how low the chances of something happening, in an eternal timeframe it WILL happen so life had to eventually form and try to give a logical explanation for itself which is god because if you were the person from my previous point, you would completely discount the idea of all the coins landing heads as it is such a low chance and they would look for an explanation which they believe is more likely.
