Status and charisma beats looks in high school. It’s all about who you know, who you’re chill with, etc. There are so many examples of this that it’s baffling to me that people still think looks are 80% of SMV. If you’re an Ltn but you’re funny and people like being around you, you’ll end up at parties and functions surrounded by girls. I know so many fucking chuds who get with mtbs and hmtbs while attractive ND guys talk to no one but their friend group and girls at school don’t even know who they are.
The thing is, if you don’t branch out and make friends with people and talk to girls in your class, even if you’re an htn, you’re ending up bitchless (or pulling random girls you don’t want) while the sub5 is making the pretty blond girls laugh in the back of the class. Who’s going to a party this Friday? the htn who sits at his desk head bent down looking at his phone or that ltn in the back surrounded by girls because he’s fun and easy to talk to? If you think the quiet htn is getting in that hoe you need to go outside, fast.
Some will say that girls won’t even pay attention to the ltn even if he’s funny because he doesn’t look good. Try counting how many htns there are in your school who barely get any girls. And see how many ltns you can spot with those big guy/girl friend groups with the parties and the pretty girls because they’re naturally confident, NT and good at talking to people.
The only outlier here is height; if you’re short (under 5’9) it’s much more difficult to garner this kind of attention since some girls will just not take you seriously. If you’re a shortcel just fraud and you’ll be fine.
A 5 month long study was done in the US interviewing thousands of high school students on what makes “popular students” the most liked. For the record, popular kids are the NT randoms who are going to parties and beaches with all the bad girls from your school. During interviews, when asked "who do you like?" in surveys, the popular students consistently named more people than anyone else.
The popular kids weren't waiting for others to approach them.
They were the "first-likers" and actively chose to connect with their peers. They weren’t the most attractive, nor the most athletic, they were the ones who branched out and made friends outside of their circle.
I will admit that looks will add a LOT to your SMV and they are crucial in situations where you’re sending pics of yourself for a 2man or a quickadd on Snap. They also add a lot to your confidence. But the bottom line is that charisma and NTness win in high school.
