what kind of post is this? stop glazing giant for a change. if youre not getting implants and just getting a normal bimax / trimax there is 0% reason to even go to giant ffs.

Bimax is not as hard as it used to be. If its done with custom hardware / plates, cutting guides, which SHOULD be the standard nowadays, many surgeons, besides the Instagram / looksmaxxing surgeons, which keep being glazed here, will do a good job.
95% of the surgeons from amazing before / afters on reddit you have never even heard off, because most surgeons could care less about a social media presence, an instagram page etc.

Many world class jaw surgeons, which you naturally dont know, actually work in university clinics, where they always have access to the most cutting edge technology by default, compared to private practice surgeons (raffaini, alfaro etc.), who rely on outdated surgery techniques, since its the way they have always done things. Im pretty sure Raffaini doesnt even use custom plates or cutting guides.

GG for paying 40k to have surgery with a 70 year old, with surgery techniques out of the middle ages, who peaked 15 years ago. But at least he is famous right?

Do you want to know if a maxillofacial surgeon is good? Or if they perform bimax, trimax, Lefort procedures, extractions, implants, among other things?

Easy, just check their publications. If they do facial reconstructions after accidents or tumors, or reconstructions of orthognathic surgeries then almost certainly everything else is a piece of cake for them.

Obviously, no one is perfect, but they can come very close.

Keep that in mind.
A maxillofacial surgeon isn't just about aesthetics it's also about building and reconstructing.
