EDIT: Not talking about short chin, I’m talking about having a short face relative to overall head length/size.
You want to connect your face (below sideburns) to your head (sideburns and above).
This means that your hair/sideburns shouldn’t be medium length. This contrast means your short face will be completely separate from your head and make it look short/bloated:
If you have stubble on your face, you want a fade where the stubble is blended into your hair/sideburns. This will elongate the face, example:
If you are clean shaven, you want a skin fade (not too high) where again it will blend into your shaved face.
