I'm not a fat ass but I have a bit of chub. I swear I ate one big ass meal years ago and I woke up the next day with a damn pound of fat in my belly and it has stayed there for so long. How do I get rid of this cushion to expose my true abdominals?

The more lean muscle mass you have, the higher your energy expenditure at rest. I.e. your calorie requirements will rise and you'll be able to eat more without getting fat. Set priorities first though, what do you want sooner? Be lean or be able to eat more/have more muscle mass? Doing both simultaneously does work but would take longer.
