Better skin on finasteride than dutasteride?

I was on finasteride for around three months and noticed my acne completely cleared. Not having side effects and being greedy I switched to dutasteride for the extra dht suppression and to further decrease my oil production. I’ve noticed though that my acne is coming back. It’s not as bad as pre-finasteride, but my skin was noticeably clearer on finasteride than dutasteride.

Is there a reason for this? I want to stay on dutasteride so Type 1 doesn’t rape my collagen but I miss my finasteride skin.

Acne can actually be clearer on finasterid than dutasteride, even though dutasterde suppresses more DHT. Broader DHT suppression can make skin changes or shifts in androgen activity that bring some acne back, it's somewhat ur genetics/biology

Its because you currently have higher dht since dutasteride has a 5 week half life so its takes pretty long time for it to saturate and reach those high levels of 5ar inhibition

This seems unlikely, after 1-2 weeks of dutasteride 0.5 mg/day, serum DHT is already ~85–90% reduced, which is more than typical finasteride’s 70–75%.

Even then the first bit is can cause acne pretty quick even ifbits like a week or less

You dont have to switch, you can run both

Dut will be superior in the end and you can just remove the fin after 2 months or so when the dut is almost saturated
