I had bimax and genioplasty done about 3 weeks ago.

Costs:

Surgery planning (not covered by insurance): $3000
Genioplasty (not covered by insurance) : $6800
Dental (braces): $2900
Hospital Fees: $2000
Sleep Study: $100
Meds: $200

Total Cost: $15,000

Top: 5mm
Bottom: 15mm
CCW: not sure how this is measured, but it was done as well.

The surgeon pretty much followed the plan.

3D planning images attached. Too technical for my understanding, however its pretty cool too see.

Happy to answer any questions you guys have.

if this is not a typo then you have been scammed

Sorry my dude. Not comfortable with sending pics of myself.

Surgeon performed a septoplasty as well. My nose is straighter.

Nostrils did widen. I will also be getting rhino in 6 months.

No problem, thanks for your answer.
If you ever change your mind, you could send a pic with censored eyes or just a cropped image of your jaw/chin.

How’s swelling at the moment?

I live in one of the most expensive areas in cali.

I agree, the genio was way too expensive.

However, the surgeon is probably the only specialist in cali with a great track record that accepts insurance.

Everyone else worth talking to does not accept insurance.

Most of my surgery was actually covered.

Genio is rarely ever covered since insurance considers it cosmetic.

Planning, you pay the surgeon directly.

PM doctors name

that's low for a bimax, especially in the USA
This Arnett and gunson charge around 30-40K for this shit.
literally half of his operation was covered by insurance. He just listed items that wasnt covered by insurance. So the real price is somewhere between 30k-50K

just lol having a surgery in USA

1. Not sure, still swollen so hard to say. If it did, probably not by much

- Found a good surgeon covered by my insurance (got lucky here)
- Consultation
- braces for 3 months (my teeth were fairly straight already)
- after the consultation, for 2 months went back and forth with insurance till they said, fine we will cover
- surgical 3d planning 1 month before surgery

I asked surgeon for max movement without looking ugly and ccw. He pretty much said yea of course. His words: we will do the 3d planning and i also have a good eye for these things.

I didnt expect genio to be so expensive so i asked if its necessary. He said, yes that he typically always does it with bimax to add more harmony and that It looks weird w/o it

Indeed it’s brutal. Why do the best jaw surgeons have to be in one the strictest covid countries(Italy)? Like am I really gonna have to get vaxxed in order to get a decent deal on surgery?

how your insurance covered it? did you had health problems?

Before selecting my insurance for the year, I called to make sure ortho and jaw surgery was covered. I also verified with surgeon what insurance they accept.

The surgeon has his assistants work with the insurance. They did scans, x-ray, photos and write a case to the insurance company. A lot of back and forth. Initially it was denied, so we had to do a sleep test. I finally did a sleep test (I didnt even look at the results lol), and they finally accepted after 2 months of back and forth

I probably did have sleep apnea, since insurance covered

can you pay in installments or does it have to be one sum

U got like 5 degree CCW, 5mm lf1 and 1cm bsso, 5mm genio [u didn't get 15mm bsso, it's pogonion mesure which is bsso + genio]

Planning is good and the advancement is good

Cant you share only lower third b/a?

Also is the improvement massive ?

did u start as a class 2 or not ? (little underbite)?

Assuming you're from the US, did you consider going out of country?

just looked again at values very closely :

U got 6mm lf1 with 4.5mm advancement at base of the nose

10mm BSSO

5mm genio

The CCW was aproximativly 7degree cuz u had 4.5 posterior downgraft and 0 anterior downgraft (so ur smile wasn't deficient in teeth)

The plan is a very good plan, u could of get more BSSO like 12 but still i find the surgeon plan optimal for aesthetic results without making u into monkey

Haven’t gotten that far but I’ve heard he and most of the good Italians are 20-25k

Planning fees for me were upfront. Payment for genio and hospital fees were required to be paid before surgery date, I waited 2 days before the surgery to pay.

Can you expand on the ccw stuff? I dont know much about it compared to the top/bottom jaw advancements. Is 7 degrees considered small or average movement?

Agreed, Felt like the 10mm + 5mm genio was sufficient

On thé mesure analysis:
A = advancement at the base of the nose
Midline incisor = The LF1 movement
Pogonion = Total movement [ bsso + genio]

For the CCW i check on the 3D how much did he downgraft the maxilla posteriorly it was 4.2mm which is 7 degree CCW (cuz i know that 2.9mm posterior downgraft is 5 degree)

Yes 7 CCW is good, overall your plan was very good from an aesthetic pov and functional, the surgeon did good job

Dr. Diamond in Beverly hills charges 1k consultation fee and 35k for just a chin implant this is cheap.

My genioplasty costed $8,700 (not including $400 in scans, bumped down to $295 by insurance). Good doctors are worth the money, this is your face we're talking about. I had a consultation with another doctor who quoted around $5,500, but I did not trust his experience as much.

@Sendjawz do you have any nerve damage or numbness? Did you see a significant aesthetic improvement to your face? Do people treat you differently?
