I had double jaw surgery about 4–5 years ago. Can the titanium plates still be removed?
 
yes but there is no reason. Removing a LeFort 1 Plate has about a 15% chance of causing major problems needing revision jaw surgery due to instability. I have seen it happen about 5 times in the last year, all cases where the LF plate was causing no problem and had no legitimate reason for removal except patient desire, which isnt a good reason IMO.
