Slangs, attitude, fashion, speech patterns, body language, music, literature, food... every element of an American culture originates from black people, especially black women. Why is the race of women, that has influenced and contributed so much to, not only America, but whole world treated as such? They truly are the trend makers, we are just the copycats, period.
A lot of what is seen as "sassy" originated from melanated queens too. Now, why do they get discriminated for being "too ghetto", "too loud" or "too masculine", while "bossy" white women and "spicy" Latinas get an applause for doing the watered down, unseasoned version of that?
Is this phenomenon the textbook example of lookism? Would black women still be as hated if they were attractive as white women?
-"They want our rhythm, but not our blues"
