Cope. It’s a dimorphic trait. It lookes dangerous, like a predator. Brown eyes look like a deer.

"The face on the left appears male, while the face on the right appears female. Both images were produced by making slight alterations to the same original image. The eyes and lips were lightened to produce the left image, and darkened to produce the right image. The rest of the face was unaltered, and hence equally dark in both images.

That decreasing or increasing facial contrast is sufficient to make a face appear male or female indicates that facial contrast plays a role in the perception of facial gender."

-------------------------------------------

"When comparing similar eye colour genetic profiles, females tend, as a whole, to have darker eyes than males (and, conversely, males lighter than females).

These results are also corroborated by the revision and meta-analysis of data from previously published eye colour genetic studies in several Caucasian populations, which significantly support the fact that males are more likely to have blue eyes than females, while females tend to show higher frequencies of green and brown eyes than males.

This significant gender difference would suggest that there is an as yet unidentified gender-related factor contributing to human eye colour variation."

The conditional distribution of eye color is different for the Blue and Green eye colors, with differences of around six percentage points. A larger percentage of Males report Blue eyes (39.06% to 33.42%) and a larger percentage of Females report Green eyes (17.89% to 11.97%)."
-------------------------------------------

The brown-eyed faces were perceived as more trustworthy than the blue-eyed ones. Sex of face had a significant effect on perceived trustworthiness (F1,76 = 59.90, p = 0.001, η2 = 0.441); female faces were rated as more trustworthy than male faces. We found a significant negative correlation between perceived trustworthiness and perceived dominance

Further, the longer chin of blue-eyed individuals makes them look less baby-faced. It has been shown that higher ratings for honesty are given to more baby-faced people with shorter chins and lower-positioned facial features

-------------------------------------------

NFL quaterbacks are extremely blue eyed:

As important to an NFL quarterback as arm strength or height, speed or intelligence, is the one characteristic that is largely ignored by the sporting community. A quarterback must have blue eyes.

Intrigued, I did a little research with the help of Google and NFL.com, and it turns out that over 80% of Superbowls have been won by Quarterback with blue eyes, a ratio of over 4 to 1. What’s more, of the twenty-three modern era quarterbacks in the NFL Hall of Fame, twenty-one have light colored eyes. That is not a misprint. That is over 90%. If you were to include guaranteed first ballot HOFer’s Peyton Manning, Bret Favre and Tom Brady, it climbs to an astounding twenty four of twenty six. (In 2014, no quarterbacks were voted as HOF semifinalist; however, of the six quarterbacks eligible, only sky blue-eyed Phil Simms has won a Superbowl, setting a record for completion percentage in the game and winning the Superbowl MVP award).

Only two Hall of Fame quarterbacks have brown eyes, Warren Moon and Otto Graham. For any coach in the NFL (or vegas bookie), this should be a stunning revelation. According to a New York Times article by Douglas Belkin, blue eyes make up less than twenty percent of the people born in the U.S. today, about 1 in 6. Even when you concede the fact that racism played a large part in the earlier days of the NFL (and some would say even now), and therefore use only statics from the population of Caucasian Americans for comparison, blue eyes are still only found at a rate of approximately 34%, or 1 in 3. Only in Estonia and some Scandinavian countries does the percentage of blue eyes even approach that of the NFL Hall of Fame’s 90+%.

Suffice it to say, there seems to be a testable, physiological, statistically supported difference between light and dark colored eyes, which apparently tends to have a profound effect on the performance of an NFL quarterback

-------------------------------------------

Over 90% of U.S. Presidents have been blue eyed:

Micheal Medved notes today that Washington's blue eyes were the rule rather than the exception in the Oval Office: 39 out of our 43 presidents had blue eyes.

It turns out that in all of U.S. history, only five presidents had brown eyes – John Quincy Adams, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, LBJ and Nixon. All the rest were clearly described with blue, grey, or hazel eyes.

Blue eyes are a recessive genetic trait, found in only 16 percent of the U.S. population today. Granted, in 1900, roughly 50 percent of Americans had blue eyes, but that still doesn't approach the 88 percent of U.S. presidents with blue eyes.

And as for those few presidents with brown eyes,
two of our three presidents who faced serious impeachment proceedings (Andrew Johnson and Richard Nixon) were among our brown-eyed minority. The other three brownies (John Quincy Adams, Chester A. Arthur, and Lyndon Johnson) all hoped to win an additional term as president but failed to do, falling victim to bitter political critics and rivals.

The 2nd animal is currently critically endangered with extinction due to being hunted by humans.

Most deers are dark brown eyed btw. That cherrypicked picture is of a random baby with a genetic mutation, and you searched "blue eyed deer" to find it.
Their black eyes are a big component of what makes them so cute.

Maybe it's because the US presidents are mostly of Anglo Saxon origin from elite British families. You realize that in non-Southern Europe brown eyes are more rare than blue eyes right? In Britain it's like 80% of white people who are blue eyed.

Cope. Britain is not anywhere near 80% blue eyed. Try 50.

Why are blue eyed anglo saxons more likely to be elected? Theyre not 90% blue eyed. White americans are of mostly british/german descent anyways, all of which have similar rates of blue eyes.

Yeah the 80% was blue and green so I was wrong. It's mostly blue though as green eyes are somewhat rare so it's likely ~70% of white Brits are blue eyed, maybe like 10% max are green eyed and the remaining are brown eyed. Among the presidents 11 presidents didn't have blue eyes that's almost 25%. So yeah you're off here.

No, there is no proof of brits being 70% blue eyed.

Here's what the data says:

"South East Scotland reported the highest proportion of blue-eyed residents - 57 per cent - while blue eyes are least common in South West England, where they account for just 35 per cent.

South East and East England have similarly low proportion of blue-eyed residents - just 44 and 41 per cent respectively - while in all regions of Ireland at least half of people have blue eyes."

I guess the website is wrong about Trump then I don't look up presidents to look up their eye color. Is there a legit list? It's jus that it's not gonna be very different from the % of the average within the British Isles. I am from Czechia for example and even here the majority of people have light eyes. Brown eyes are more rare here than blue eyes and it's not even close to the rate of blue eyes in Britain or Scandinavia.

Nah, that's just what one random woman thinks is green eyes. The study was done by a dna company, which definitely knows what green eyes are.

I doubt the presidents were green eyed since green eyes are way more uncommon than blue, plus, we see a pattern of underrepresentation for anything not blue/gray. I noticed a very high overrepresentation of grey eyes, which are even less common than blue or green.

Most CEOs are men and males tend to have lighter eyes more frequently than females

I’m currently doing my college internship in the finance industry are the higher ups have noticeably lighter coloring than the general public. Brown hair is by far the most common hair color here yet many of the senior collegaues have lighter hair and light eyes (on top of being tall, but that’s a topic for another thread)

You cant just post anything and claim it's a source btw. You have to actually be able to distinguish between a real source and some random guy's blog/personal opinion. Your source was an online "iq testing" site that looked more like a site for quizes, that didnt even show a statistically significant difference between eye colors.

You said it yourself that they are WAY more uncommon yet the study you sourced said 30% of Brits were green eyed and only 22% were brown eyed. You see they must have judged it the same way the woman who wrote the article I linked did.

A lot of articles I've seen on the topic lump the two together anyways as LIGHT EYES. So light eyes are 78% of Britain according to the study you linked and we don't even know whether they discounted the ethnics or not.
