Been using microfiber folded in between the point and massage gun and it’s gave good results. Would recommend. No sources so far but will try to provide some proof once I’m confident with the results.

Also yes, massage guns at certain frequency's are a very good replacement to a hammer, and they do similar stuff if not better as massage guns are safer.
