Braces and recession

I've seen a lot of niggas on TikTok saying that braces recess your face and shit. I wanna know if they're just some braindead monkeys reposting the same shit over and over or not.
I know that removing premolars can recess your face, and also Class II rubber bands.
I've only had two bite blockers on my upper front teeth for my deep bite and some IPR. That's all. I'm not sure if, even without either of the two things I mentioned before, braces can still recess my face or affect how my face develops properly.
