Braces maxilla expansion

My ortho told me that i need braces to widen my upper jaw ( He told me that my palate is narrow) and fix gap bettween 2 front upper teeth and a lil crowding in bottom in the front and widen a little(DAMON BRACES).
Should i go for it or no.
tell me ur opinions guys(i heard that it can make me recessed)
I am 16year 1 month left and ill be 17
