I actually wanted MARPE from the start which they were initially willing to give me since I had some „breathing issues“ but a few weeks ago they told me I didn't qualify for it because my upper jaw is already wide enough except for the front section So now I'm getting braces that only widen the front part
Does anyone know if this might help me in terms of forward growth Or could it be that my lips might get wider because my front maxilla is being widened
And just in case anyone is thinking I shouldn't get teeth extracted I’ve already cleared that up no teeth or anything like that need to be removed

I'm not the most educated man on the planet, but from most sources I've seen, braces will not change your maxilla. The braces are pulling your teeth into the proper orientation but they can't actually affect the bone. If you know you're recessed then braces will not fix it, but some people say bad teeth can make your maxilla look recessed. But if you know you're recessed, braces won't really help at all.

I think they mean the dental arch, but I don't think that's actually gonna widen your maxilla, just moving your teeth. However, I haven't seen your face, you may already have a wide palate/wide maxilla, but it's your teeth just being out of place due to shit luck. As for the Anterior Maxilla, that is basically right below the nasal notch I believe, but I think if they're using braces it's probably just the dental arch. I personally haven't heard of braces changing the maxilla, and I don't think you can change the bone without putting pressure on it... but then again I'm not an orthodontist.

braces will make fix ur bite but you will still have a suboptimal bone structure in this case
